Privacy Policy

InstantDocView (the "Service") complies with applicable data protection laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea, and maintains this policy to protect the personal information of its users.

Effective date: October 23, 2026

1. How your documents are handled

  1. Files you select or drop into the Service (HWP, HWPX, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, XLS, CSV, PDF, TXT, MD and others) and any text you type are processed only inside your web browser.
  2. The Service does not send these files or this text to any server, and does not collect, store or view them.
  3. Open documents may remain in memory until you close the document or browser tab. Opening another file does not automatically remove existing documents. Edit recovery copies may remain on your device as described in section 4.
  4. Markdown previews restrict external images and HTML elements that trigger automatic network requests. Following a link in a document may take you to an external website. Check your organization's security rules before opening confidential documents.

2. Information we collect

The Service has no sign-up and does not collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name, phone number or email address. The following information may be generated and collected automatically while you use the Service:

  • IP address, browser type and version, operating system, access time and pages visited (access logs kept by our web hosting provider)
  • Cookies and advertising identifiers (see section 3)

If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply.

If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, Cloudflare collects aggregate statistics such as pages visited, referrers, device and browser information, and page performance. This analytics feature does not use cookies. The Service does not send document contents, file names or document passwords to analytics. See About Cloudflare Web Analytics for details.

3. Cookies and Google AdSense

  1. The Service may introduce Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC, to cover operating costs. The following advertising provisions apply when advertising is enabled.
  2. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  3. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  4. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  5. For more information on how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
  6. Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown.
  7. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The document viewer keeps working if you refuse cookies.

4. Local browser storage

  1. The Service itself does not store your information in cookies or local storage. The display language is determined by the address (Korean at /, English at /en).
  2. If you use the HWP and HWPX editor, it may keep copies of documents you are editing (up to 12), editor settings and recent file names in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB and localStorage) so unsaved work can be recovered. When you download the file with the Save button, the recovery copy is deleted.
  3. To reopen the editor quickly, the editor's program files may be stored in your browser cache (service worker). This cache does not contain document contents.
  4. All of this information stays on your device and is never sent to a server. On a shared computer, you can remove it by clearing cookies and site data in your browser settings.

5. Retention

  • Contact emails: kept for one year after the inquiry is resolved (for dispute handling), then deleted. They are deleted without delay if you ask.
  • Access logs: kept according to the hosting provider's policy. We do not use them to identify individuals.

6. Sharing and processing by third parties

We do not provide your personal information to third parties. We use the infrastructure of the following providers to operate the Service:

Provider Purpose
Google LLC Receiving and replying to inquiries (Gmail); advertising when Google AdSense is enabled
Cloudflare, Inc. Website hosting and delivery; visitor statistics when Web Analytics is enabled

These providers are located outside the Republic of Korea and process information under their own privacy policies.

7. Your rights

You may at any time ask to access, correct, delete or stop the processing of your personal information (such as the email address you sent us), and we will act on your request without delay.

8. Children

The Service does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may change as laws, policies or the Service change. Changes will be announced on this website. If the English and Korean versions differ, the Korean version prevails.
